So, Curt Cavin was correct about the Andretti/Petty entry at Indy, and it turns out the entry will be in conjunction with Dreyer & Reinbold, who has been going crazy with the driver announcements lately.
HOWEVER! IMS Radio's MIKE KING!!! (his name shall hereby by put in all caps, 'cause I feel like that's how he introduces himself to people) has told the world that Andretti/Petty was not the NASCAR team/driver that he was referring to when he broke this news yesterday.
So...who were you talking about, MIKE KING!!!?
Might Tony Stewart be fielding a car? What a great thing that would be. Here's my completely baseless theory: Tony fields a car, and sticks one of his Tony Stewart Racing USAC guys in there -- let's say Kraig Kinser, because he lives in the same town that I do. Robin Miller would go crazy because someone finally stuck a USAC guy in an Indy car. This would also create the totally awesome scenario where a Tony Stewart-owned car could win on Thursday (Hoosier Hundred), Friday (Little 500 in Anderson), Saturday (IRP), Sunday afternoon (500-Mile Race), and Sunday night (Coca-Cola way-too-long NASCAR race). Yeah, that would be totally cool.
Of course, I'm sure it'll actually be Robby Gordon, who I'm sure would love another shot at the Borg-Warner after 1999. Unfortunately, there are no cross-country endurance races in Indianapolis that weekend, so Robby would only be able to win the 500.
